Leo Release Date: Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Leo is an action thriller film in Tamil that is about to release in theatres on 19th October 2023. Its tentative title was Thalapathy 67 when it was announced in January 2023.

Currently, its shoot is going on in Kashmir. The film has an ensemble cast, which has Sanjay Dutt, Priya Anand, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Denzil Smith, Mysskin, and Mansoor Ali Khan. Vijay leads this ensemble cast. He is acting as a lead actor for the 67th time in this film.

With an estimated budget of Rs. 250-300 crore, Leo is about to be the first Tamil film that will have a huge business before its release. It achieved a huge pre-released recovery as it sold theatrical, music, digital, and satellite rights. The amount is Rs. 413 Crore, which is equivalent to 52 million USD. 

Leo Release Date: Leo Title Reveal 

The action thriller film led by Vijay started shooting with the working title Thalapathy 67 as it is the 67th film as a leading actor in  Vijay’s career. The title of the film was announced as Leo, along with a promotional video. The video showed Vijay forging a sword while making chocolate and later dipping the sword in chocolate.

Thereafter, he is faced by an entourage of villains. The song Bloody Sweet played in the background.  On the same day, there was another promo video released, which showed the cast and crew going to Kashmir for the shoot. 

Leo Release Date: Leo’s First Look reveal

As Leo is progressing at a swift pace and bracing for a big Diwali release, Leo’s first look poster was released recently on 22nd June 2023. Leo’s first look shows Vijay in an action pose holding a huge bloodied sledgehammer. 

Vijay has a look of a little older man who has an unkempt and rugged look. It is told that Vijay tried 30 different looks before finalizing the current one. The poster shows a jungle behind him with a wolf peeking in.

Its caption spoke, “In the world of untamed rivers, calm waters either become divine gods or dreaded demons”. The poster release was done on the 49th birthday of Vijay or Thalapathy Vijay.

Leo Release Date: Filming of Leo 

 The action thriller’s filming started on 2nd January of this year as Chennai’s EVP Film City. Then the unit moved to Kodaikanal in the last week of January to shoot a few portions of the film. On February 1, the second schedule of the shoot started in Kashmir.  On 21st March there was a minor earthquake in the state and the filming was halted due to that. After that, the third schedule began on the 5th of April in Chennai. “Leo Release Date”

Though it was about to start on 29th March, it got rescheduled.  The introductory song for the film was shot by Lokesh in Chennai in June and it had 500 background artists. Leo is the first film in India which is shot using the  Komodo-X camera, which was specially purchased by Manoj Paramhamsa for this film. The fourth and final schedule of the film will be in Hyderabad. The climax will be shot in the Ramoji film city. The shoot schedule is expected to be done by mid-July. 

Leo Release Date: Music of Leo

Anirudh Ravichander is doing the music for the action thriller film Leo. He composed the songs for this film. The Song “ Bloody Sweet” was featured in the two-minute promo of the film that was revealed on February 3rd, 2023. Heisenberg wrote the English lyrics of the song which has a duration of 2 minutes 49 seconds. Siddharth Basrur and Anirudh performed the song.

The first single track of the film “Naa Ready” with a duration of 4 minutes 8 seconds was released along with the first look of the film on the occasion of the 49th birthday of Vijay. The lyrics of the single is written by Vishnu Edavan and Anirudh Ravichander, Vijay and Asal Kolaar performed the song.
