The NSFAS Application form fill -up for the 2023-24 session started in September 2022. The process was continued up to 31st January 2023. So students got enough time to fill out their application form. The form fill-up starts a few months before an academic session starts.

When the form fill-up process ends, the authority starts checking the details of the application form submitted. They cross-check every detail provided by the candidate with their own data. If some applicant doesn’t satisfy even one of those eligibility criteria or submit any documents that are not authentic, their form will be rejected. They will not get any money from NSFAS. However, if the candidates fulfill all the eligibility criteria and submit authentic documents, the fund will be granted to the student. Once an application form is granted for the scheme, the applicant will receive a confirmation SMS or email from the authority.

If students think their form was rejected unfairly,  they can request the authority to reconsider their decision. They have to raise an appeal from the official website. But before that, candidates must check the eligibility criteria once more and make sure all of the documents submitted are correct. Candidates have to submit the appeal on the official website and have to provide documents to support their claim. The re-appeal process needs to be done within a specific timeline.

If candidates want to talk directly with an official body, they can contact the NSFAS helpline number or visit their local NSFAS office.

Candidates should keep checking the official website to be updated about the latest information about the NSFAS Scheme.
