A Workshop on Effective IEC in WASH

WaterAid India’s East office in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha in partnership with the Odisha State Water and Sanitation Mission (OSWSM), Government of Odisha organised a state-level workshop on 31 August 2016 on Information, Communication, and Education (IEC) prototypes in water, sanitation and hygiene(WASH).

There were nearly 70 participants including district level IEC consultants from all 30 districts of the state, officials from OSWSM, communication experts from Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha; and representatives from UNICEF and WaterAid India.

The aim behind organising the day long workshop was to develop prototypes for IEC in WASH, as well as disseminate important messaging and tools for targeting stakeholders through IEC for WASH.

Presentations were held by different experts on the status of media landscape in Odisha, current IEC efforts in various districts of Odisha and a presentation and group work on developing effective IEC.
